Under the supervision of the Director of Finance & Administrative Services, this position will work collaboratively with Marketing, Information Technology, management and other departments to ensure compliance with current WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) accessibility standards. The Digital Accessibility Analyst will assist with conducting an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) compliance review, remediate ICT files, assist with defining guidelines and best practices for accessibility-driven design, and create WCAG compliant/accessible communications, templates and ICT that will be used by the District.

Job Duties:

  • Work collaboratively with Marketing, IT and management to implement and execute a strategic, ongoing plan for the accessibility and usability of all District websites, and ICT.
  • Assist the accessibility committee to assess applications and documents, make recommendations for improvements and manage the collection and evaluation of application accessibility conformance reports.
  • Research accessibility tools and present findings and recommendations to accessibility committee/management.
  • Collaborates with IT, Marketing and other departments to create digital accessibility training tools and materials.
  • Assist with remediating gaps in accessibility through communication, collaboration and implementation of WCAG digital accessibility requirements and as required by CO HB 21-1110.
  • Champion accessibility and compliance for all ICT across the District.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for digital accessibility related questions.
  • Create accessible internal and external document templates.
  • Work with the accessibility committee to develop procurement guidelines and standards for new technologies.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge on current trends and best practices in accessibility and accommodations.
  • Assist with manual testing of the District’s websites to identify and remediate pages, content, and features that fail to meet accessibility standards or best practices.
  • Provide guidance and general oversight of the training platform/tool, testing and remediation tools.
  • Identify and provide ongoing training to staff to ensure they understand the importance of accessibility and ways to incorporate accessibility into the workplace.
  • Manage document remediation, including direct remediation and outsourcing to vendors when appropriate; working with content creators/owners to remediate PDFs and other documents to make them accessible; Working with District graphic designers to remediate other designed content and ensure that all newly created content is designed to be accessible.
  • Responsible for annual review of ICT vendors including vendor communication and compliance documentation (VPAT) collection and review.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Material & Equipment Used:

  • Knowledge of modern office procedures, methods and general office equipment (computer, copier, fax, phone, etc.). Proficiency with applicable computer software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Dynamics Great Plains, Management Reporter, POS applications).
  • Knowledge of budget planning, development and control, funding, legal requirements and generally accepted accounting and auditing principles, practices, and processes.
  • Knowledge of methods of evaluating computer systems effectiveness.

Working Environment:

95% of the work is performed indoors in a busy office type environment where noise and interruptions prevail. Occasional environmental conditions encountered include noise, fumes, odors, and dust.

Physical Requirements:

Stand, walk, handle and operate objects and office equipment, reach outward and above shoulder and carry, pull, push or lift up to 25 lbs. The employee must be able to see close up and at a distance with vision acuity and the ability to adjust focus allowing a broad field of vision. The employee must communicate clearly and effectively, must understand and be understood.

Required Experience:


  • Graduation from high school or completion of GED required.
  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
  • International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) certification (i.e. CPACC, WAS, CPWA and CPABE) strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply current WCAG guidelines required.
  • Experience in evaluating, applying and remediating documents, websites and other digital platforms for WCAG guidelines required.
  • Proficiency with screen readers and other assistive technology required.
  • Know, understand, and be able to apply the Colorado’s accessibility laws including HB21-1110 as well as other related guidance, directives, and recommendations.
  • Good customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts to a wide variety of audiences.
